For energy auditors

Energy auditors: leave the evidence running.

Your analyser gets you a few days of data. Your client’s saving has to last for years. KONDUKTOR® EMS is not a portable logger and does not replace yours. It is a fixed energy monitoring system on the plant’s own meters, so the numbers keep coming after you leave.

Where it helps, stage by stage

StageWhat the system gives you
Before your visitWhere it is already running: load profiles and heatmaps by hour and day, Maximum Demand history and the TOD split, so you arrive knowing the plant’s pattern.
Energy balanceEnergy per meter for the same period across every panel, arranged to follow the single-line diagram.
BillskWh, kVAh, Maximum Demand with the time it happened and power factor for each meter. The Bill page works out the month in the DISCOM’s format, and Reconciliation shows the gap against the net payable.
SEC baselineDaily production entry or CSV upload, with plant-wide SEC worked out each day and downloadable as CSV.
MachinesRunning, idle and stopped time for each machine that has its own meter.
Your recommendationsWhere your report calls for holding back loads near the demand limit, moving them out of peak hours or switching off idle machines, the system can do it automatically through Modbus I/O cards, engineered for the plant as part of its project. The saving does not depend on someone remembering.
After the auditThe same view keeps recording, so each month can be set against your baseline.

What it does not replace

  • Your portable analyser or clamp logger, wherever a feeder has no fixed meter.
  • Your check on accuracy. Readings are only as good as the panel meter and CT behind them, so check the meter class and the CT ratio before you rely on a number.
  • Thermal, flue gas, flow, pressure and air-leak measurements.
  • Your role. The audit’s findings and signature stay yours.

Showing that a saving holds

A saving measured in the month after a retrofit says little about month six. Keep the same sum running: energy from the meter, output from the production entry, against the audit’s baseline. Here a plant’s baseline is 0.620 kWh per kg and its target is a 10% saving, or 0.558.

MonthEnergy (kWh)Output (kg)SEC (kWh/kg)Saving against baseline
Month 196,0001,75,0000.54911.5%
Month 397,5001,74,0000.5609.6%
Month 61,02,0001,73,0000.5904.9%
What to look for

Month 1 clears the target. By month 6 about half the saving has gone. A report written after month 1 would never show that. Illustrative figures.

Wording for your recommendations

Free to use in your report. It names no vendor. Change the value in [brackets].

Install permanent metering at the incomer and at each section listed in this report, recording energy, demand and power factor continuously. Keep the records on site, in a form that exports to Excel or CSV. Enter production daily and track specific energy consumption against the baseline in this report every month. Review the trend at each monthly energy meeting, and investigate any month that drifts more than [3]% from target.

How it fits your work

  • It reads the plant’s existing RS-485 meters, once we confirm the register map for each make and model.
  • A Viewer login lets you read the dashboard on the plant network without being able to change settings.
  • The plant’s team exports meter, billing and history data to Excel and CSV for your working papers.
  • All of it stays inside the plant, on the plant’s own gateway and backup.

Common questions

Does this replace my portable analyser?+

No. It only reads fixed meters that have RS-485. You still need your analyser on feeders with no meter, and for any short study that needs more detail than a panel meter gives.

Can I get the raw data for my report?+

Yes. Meter, billing and history data export to Excel and CSV. The data belongs to the plant, so its team runs the exports and gives you the files, or gives you a login on the plant network.

Will it have data from before installation?+

No. Recording starts when the gateway goes in. For an older baseline, use the bills and your own audit measurements, then let the system carry it forward.

Is this data accepted for scheme verification?+

It helps, but it is not the verdict. Under ADEETIE, energy auditors carry out Monitoring, Reporting and Verification and decide what evidence they accept. Check the current scheme guidelines.
